Youth for People and The Bombay Rock Association come together again for Rush of Blood II - The musical blood donation drive. This is a unique concept wherein some of the top rock bands of Mumbai would come together and perform on a common platform for the young rock and music fans and the attendees would simultaneously donate blood, to show their solidarity towards cancer and other patients.

It gives me great pleasure to invite you (and your band) to perform with us or just spare some time to visit us and encourage our youth.

The details of the event are as follows:
- 25th July Sunday - Inorbit Mall (Malad)
- 1st August, Sunday - Inorbit Mall (Vashi)

Timings are 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

We plan to invite TV/Print/Radio/Digital Media professionals to support the cause and generate awareness for "Rush of Blood".

It would be great if you could confirm your participation with us and the timing as well, so that we can invite the Media personnel accordingly.

One of their twin objectives of promoting music and social issues, Youth For People & Bombay Rock Association would be kicking off with a blood donation drive, with a twist. Imagine yourself engaging in a social cause and having fun at the same time. In this drive, we'd be conducting a jamming session with artistes playing throughout the process.The idea is to make the youth aware about the benefits of blood donation and how 'precious lives' can be saved by just a small contribution from you. Every bottle of this blood donation drive will be collected by different hospitals in Mumbai for the needy. The idea of this germinates from the fact that people from different parts of the country converge at different hospitals in our city to cure their loved ones. At times, there is an urgent requirement for blood, therefore it's our moral duty as part of a 'responsible' society to volunteer as a donors. In the spirit of such a cause, mixed with the element of entertainment, we bring to you 'Musical Blood Donation Drive'.

This event will be conducted once in every three months and will feature big and small artistes. The drive will also have experts speaking about aspects of blood donation. The participation of students and young professionals is crucial to such drives, both in terms of magnitude and creating awareness thereby encouraging more to volunteer for the same in future. There will be live performances by artistes\bands throughout the day, while people will be donating blood. This will be an open house where artistes and bands will be invited to perform onstage. In this endeavor, we look for your support and maximum participation for the betterment of our society. Enjoy the adrenaline rush at the concert and let your blood rush to the people who need it the most.

The vital points will be as follows:

1) Age- 18 to 60 yrs.
2) Weight - above 45 kg.
3) Cannot donate on an empty stomach. Should have had some meal before donating.
4) Should not have had any major illnesses like jaundice, malaria ,typhoid, TB, Chicken pox, dengue etc in the past 1 year.
5) Pregnant women and lactating mothers cannot donate.
6) Should not have donated blood in the past 3 months.
7) Should not be diabetic or a Blood pressure (hypertensive) patient. ( Donation not allowed even if under control with medication)
8) Should not be on any major medication like antibiotics, anti-depressants, aspirin etc.
9) Should not have any operation in the past 6 to 12 months.
10) Skin infection, unexplained weight loss, frequent fainting episodes, etc ....please avoid.
